Bay Shore Teen Indicted For Shooting Guest At Baby Shower
A Long Island teen has been indicted for the shooting of a man at a woman's baby shower.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced the assault charges against Javier Soto, age 16, of Bay Shore, on Friday, Oct. 14.
“A baby shower should be a joyous occasion celebrating the coming of new life. Here, the defendant allegedly risked lives and shot a party guest with an illegal firearm,” said Tierney. “Fortunately, there were no fatalities.”

Two Long Island residents are facing charges after they were allegedly caught with a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Alonzo Loyola, age 24, of Valley Stream, and Pia Califano, age 19, of Levittown, were stopped at around 11:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, as they drove through Inwood.
Officers initiated a traffic stop near Burnside Avenue and Nassau Expressway after noticing that their 2011 Infiniti had excessive tinted windows, Nassau County police said.

A Long Island man is facing charges after he was busted with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Seon Linton, age 23, was stopped in Valley Stream at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, along North Central Avenue, Nassau County Police said.
Officers searched his BMW sedan after determining his vehicle registration was suspended, police said.

Long Island Woman Sentenced For Conspiring To Distribute Drugs, Firearm Possession
A Long Island woman was sentenced for conspiring to distribute drugs, including fentanyl, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Amber Schatz, age 33, of Wading River, was sentenced on Thursday, Dec. 9, to 10 years in prison, according to Breon Peace, United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
She pleaded guilty to the charges in May.
In January of 2020, Schatz and her boyfriend Curtis Prussick conspired to distribute "large quantities of narcotics," the Attorney's Office reported.

A 20-year-old man was apprehended after allegedly being nabbed with a loaded firearm in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Long Island.
Keyron Leebing, age 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested around 8:20 p.m., Friday, May 7 in East Garden City, after being stopped by officers, Nassau County Police said.
According to detectives, officers on patrol spotted a 2007 Lexus traveling northbound on Ring Road change lanes without signaling and made a traffic stop.
