President Joe Biden has hit the ground running in laying out his COVID-19 response plan to slow down the pandemic, issuing a series of executive orders to combat the spread of the virus, calling it a "wartime undertaking."
On his first full day in office, Thursday, Jan. 21, Biden signed 10 executive orders to combat COVID-19, mandating masks on public transportation across the country and directing agencies to use wartime powers to require American companies to make masks, swabs, and other equipment.

Covid-19: 1,393 New LI Cases Reported; Cuomo Asks FEMA For Four More Temporary Hospitals
There have been 1,393 more confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Long Island as the state total rose to 44,635.
As of Friday, March 27, In Nassau County, 743 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 4,657 since the outbreak began. Suffolk saw 650 new cases, bringing the total to 3,385. Statewide, there were 7,377 new cases. (See first image above.)

Covid-19: 33 Nassau County PD Officers Test Positive
There have been seven new novel coronavirus-related deaths reported in Nassau County, and 33 members of the county police department have tested positive as cases top 30,000 in New York.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday, March 25 that there have been 5,146 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus on Long Island as the state’s total rose to 30,811.
In Nassau, there were 416 new reported COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 3,285 since the outbreak began. Of those, there have been 17 deaths. There have also been 2,260 positive cases reported in Suffolk County.

NY Covid-19 Cases Surpass 10,000 As Cuomo Unveils Measures For Adding Hospitals, Equipment
As New York State has surpassed 10,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced measures to increase hospital capacity and acquire vital equipment such as ventilators and masks.
A total of 10,356 have now tested positive in New York. With 45,437 tests having been done in the state, 22.7 percent of those tests have been positive.
