Worker Killed At Construction Site In Glen Head A worker was killed in an incident at a construction site on Long Island. The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Glen Head. A 34-year-old landscaper was working in a tree at the site, cutting a branch with a chainsaw when a nearby powerline electrocuted him, Nassau County Police said. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced deceased by a Nassau County Police Medic. His identity has not yet been released. Man, 43, Electrocuted On Long Island, Investigation Launched Police are investigating the death of a man who died on Long Island while on the job. It happened on Tuesday, Nov. 28 in Westbury, in the back of a building at 750 Summa Avenue. According to the Nassau County Police, it was just after 2:10 p.m. when a 43-year-old paving company employee was electrocuted while he was operating a paving machine. He was pronounced dead by medics on the scene. Additional details, including the victim’s identity, have not been provided. Police said the investigation is ongoing. Long Island Man Dies After Being Electrocuted, Police Say A Long Island man has died after being electrocuted when he got out of his dump truck after it came into contact with overhead electrical wires. Luigi T. Cicillini, age 18, of Selden, was electrocuted when he exited the truck around 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the East Coast Mines and Material on Lewis Road in East Quogue, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police. Michael Jacob, age 51, of Holbrook, was working on runway lights at the airport in Ronkonkoma when he was electrocuted at approximately 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, Suffolk County Police said. Jacob was transported by Sayville Community Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Long Island Man Seriously Injured After Being Electrocuted, Falling From Ladder Police are investigating the circumstances in which a Long Island man fell off a ladder after being electrocuted while working on a house. Lawrence Sirulnick, age 56, was on a ladder in Smithtown outside of 37 Juniper Ave. when he touched an electrical wire and fell approximately 15 feet to the ground just before 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, Suffolk County Police said. Sirulnick, of Smithtown, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Identity Released For 20-Year-Old Woman Killed While Walking On Lirr Tracks Long Island Railroad officials have released the identity of a woman electrocuted by a third-rail track in Freeport. Kay Bernese-Lopez, 20, of Hempstead, was killed about 6 a.m., Saturday, June 1, while walking with two other women near the tracks in Freeport, said an LIRR spokesman. Bernese-Lopez was transported to South Nassau Hospital where she was pronounced dead, the spokesman said.  There was no train involved in this incident, she had come into contact with the third rail, he said.
