58-Year-Old Man Killed In Single-Car Crash On Long Island A 58-year-old man has died following a single-car crash on Long Island. Police in Nassau County said he was driving in East Norwich at around 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, when he veered off the roadway near Northern Boulevard and Linden Lane. After leaving the road, the man reportedly struck several trees. Crews with the East Norwich Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. Police did not release the man’s name. According to officials, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at one of the units in the Eagle Rock apartment complex on Pond Road in Woodbury in Nassau County. Long Island Apartment Fire Under Investigation An investigation is underway after an apartment fire broke out on Long Island. Emergency responders rushed to the scene in Woodbury at 114 Fairhaven Boulevard off Jericho Turnpike at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. After observing heavy black smoke emitting from the building, police evacuated all nearby apartments and made sure that no one was still inside. No injuries were reported.
