MTA Driver Kills Passenger In Drunken Long Island Crash, DA Says
A Long Island man was indicted on charges including manslaughter for allegedly driving drunk and crashing his car, killing a 26-year-old passenger, officials announced.
Donnell Hill, age 51 of Hempstead, pleaded not guilty during his indictment on Tuesday, Aug. 29 to the seven felony charges against him regarding an October 2022 fatal car crash, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
The crash happened in Hempstead on Oct. 29, 2022, at approximately 10:35 p.m.

A report of a stolen car ended with a 26-year-old man in handcuffs on Long Island.
Riverhead Town Police were alerted at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, that a vehicle stolen from Nassau County was believed to be entering Riverhead.
Nearly 10 minutes later, patrol units spotted the 2006 Dodge Charger stopped on Route 58 near Mill Road, according to police.

A traffic stop on Long Island ended with a passenger in handcuffs on weapons charges.
Officers in New Cassel stopped a Dodge Charger at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, near Prospect and Magnolia avenues due to a suspended registration, according to Nassau County Police.
While speaking with the driver, a man in the passenger seat, 38-year-old Ishmel Cohen, of Brooklyn, began acting suspiciously and officers asked him to exit the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the car turned up an illegal semi-automatic Glock handgun loaded with ten rounds of ammunition, police said.

A shooting involving police and a robbery suspect ended on Long Island with a Crips gang member in custody.
The 20-year-old gang member, who the police declined to identify, said the incident began around 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, when officers attempted to pull over a black Dodge Charger in Uniondale which they believed was involved in an earlier robbery in Levittown, said Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder during a news conference.

One person was killed and five others were hospitalized after a two-car crash involving a drunk driver overnight on Long Island, police said.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 in Islip.
Driver, Michael Lupo, age 23, of North Babylon, was traveling southbound on the Robert Moses Causeway in a Dodge Charger when it collided with a Ford Focus, causing the Dodge to overturn, according to state police.
