Dozens Displaced After Blaze Breaks Out At Motel In Nassau County More than two dozen people were displaced following a fire at a Long Island motel. The blaze broke out in a second-floor room at the Pines Motor Lodge on Taylor Avenue in Westbury at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, fire officials said. Multiple agencies responded to the fire, which was knocked down in approximately an hour. Minor injuries were reportedly sustained by a child and firefighter who were treated at the scene. The fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal. No other details were immediately released.
