Woman Injures 3 Officers With Shower Rod, More During Long Island Arrest: Police
A 25-year-old Long Island woman allegedly exposed herself and used a shower rod against officers during her arrest, police claimed.
The woman, Lourdje Elien, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 21 at approximately 3 a.m. in Uniondale, according to Nassau County Police.
After what was reported to be a disturbance, police found Elien, a 25-year-old Uniondale resident, outside of her Park Place home, screaming and exposing herself.
When going to make an arrest, Elien reportedly picked up a shower rod and started swinging, injuring three officers until she was eventually taken into custody.

Man Assaults Pair, Holds 1 Hostage On Long Island: Police
A Long Island man has been arrested after police say he assaulted a pair of people and held one of them hostage.
It happened on Saturday, Nov. 25 in Hicksville, according to Nassau County Police.
Just before 10:30 a.m., police responded to a home on Ohio Street, where 40-year-old John Howell of Hicksville was holding a woman, age 56, hostage inside.
Earlier in the morning, Howell had allegedly physically assaulted the woman and a 44-year-old man, even going as far as threatening them with a knife.

On Monday, Nov. 6, Nassau County Police reported the arrest of Melbis Hernandez, age 36, for the Hempstead incident.

Three weeks prior to Hernandez’s arrest, on Saturday, Oct. 21, police found 53-year-old Marlon Rivas-Aguilar unresponsive and bleeding in the stairwell of 45 Jackson Avenue.
