19 DWI Arrests Made On Long Island Over Labor Day Weekend, 2 For Leandra's Law
According to police, over a dozen drunk drivers were taken off Long Island roads over the holiday weekend, two violating Leandra Law, while hundreds more were given tickets.
From Friday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 4, 19 intoxicated drivers on Long Island were removed from the road and given tickets, the New York State Police announced.
Out of the 19 people, two were given an additional felony charge for driving drunk with a child under the age of 16 in the backseat, violating Leandra Law.

Drug Lab: Owner Busted Making Meth At Long Island Business, Police Say
A Long Island business owner is accused of operating a methamphetamine laboratory in the same building that houses his company.
Suffolk County Police officers were initially called at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, with reports of a burglary at the Quantitative Laboratories, located in Ronkonkoma on Pond Road.
While searching the building for suspects, officers uncovered chemicals and equipment consistent with a methamphetamine operation, police said.
Investigators also reported finding solid and liquid methamphetamine, along with ketamine, cocaine, and $40,000 in cash.

Long Island Man Sold Fentanyl-Laced Pills To Undercover Cop, Jury Finds
A Long Island man was convicted by a jury of his peers for selling pills laced with fentanyl at an LIRR train station.
Anthony Alexander, age 57, of Deer Park, was found guilty Thursday, March 30, of selling the opioid-laced pills under the guise that they were oxycodone, the Suffolk County DA said.
Alexander sold what he said were oxycodone pills to an undercover investigator two times in January 2022. Subsequent testing of the pills sold to the investigator revealed that they were fentanyl, not oxycodone.

Three men face numerous charges after allegedly trafficking ghost guns, assault weapons, and large quantities of cocaine from Massachusetts to New York, officials said.
The trafficking operation was taken down on Wednesday, March 15 after a 16-month investigation by the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force and the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced.

'Should Send A Message': Long Island Man Sentenced For Dealing Cocaine
A Long Island man will spend years in prison for dealing cocaine.
Sean Mohan, age 49, of Central Islip, was sentenced to eight years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Monday, March 6. It followed his jury conviction on felony and misdemeanor drug charges in November 2022.
Mohan was arrested in August 2021 after Suffolk County Police found more than eight ounces of cocaine during a search of his home, according to prosecutors.
Police also recovered four digital scales, four cell phones, a drug ledger, and over $1,100 in drug proceeds.

Trio Nabbed Smuggling Drugs Into Hudson Valley Prison On Same Day, Police Say
Three different women who didn't know each other were allegedly nabbed smuggling drugs into a Hudson Valley prison on the same day.
The incident took place in Orange County on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Otisville Correctional Facility, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
