Covid-19: Long Island Sees New Increases In Cases, Positivity Rate; Latest Totals By County
Long Island has seen new increases in both the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing and the number of new cases, according to newly released data on Sunday, Nov. 8.
The positive testing rate in all focus areas under New York State's micro-cluster strategy is 3.72 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 2.23 percent.
Within the focus areas, 11,672 test results were reported Saturday, Nov. 7, yielding 435 positives.
In the remainder of the state, not counting these focus areas, 133,970 test results were reported, yielding 2,993 positives.

Long Island saw a small spike in COVID-19 overnight, with nearly 250 newly reported cases, though testing was ramped up.
In Nassau, the state Department of Health is reporting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, a total of 133 new positive cases out of 7,970 tested in the past 24 hours.
In Suffolk, there were 113 new cases out of 7,837 who were tested for the virus, with the infection rate in both counties jumping slightly.

Long Island saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Friday, Oct. 2.
A total of 119,493 test results were reported to New York State on Thursday, Oct. 1 — a new record high.
In the top 20 "hotspot" zip codes, 6,703 tests were conducted, yielding 429 positives or a 6.4 positivity rate.
In the remainder of the state, 112,790 were conducted yielding 1,169 positives or a 1.03 percent positivity rate.

Covid-19: New Antibody Test Results Released For Long Island For First Time In Six Weeks
With New York continuing to ramp up novel coronavirus (COVID-19) testing, it was determined that in the past six weeks, the number of patients testing positive for the virus’ antibodies has slightly increased.
New York State surveyed more than 12,000 people between Friday, May 1, and Saturday, June 13, for antibodies, which found that 13.4 percent of those tested are now testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies, up 1.1 percent from the beginning of the tests.
On Long Island, 11.4 percent tested positive as of May 1, jumping 2.7 percent to 14.1 as of June 13.
