The positive COVID-19 infection rate on Long Island rose a full percentage point over the weekend as New York contends with the latest rise of new cases of the virus. The average seven-day average percentage of positive tests reported on Long Island rose from 3.57 percent on Friday, April 8, to 4.35 percent the following day and up to 4.62 percent on Sunday, April 10. Nassau County is pulling out all the stops to ensure that eligible residents on Long Island can go out and get their COVID-19 booster shots.
