Duo Nabbed For String Of Suffolk County ATM Burglaries
Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.

Two men were arrested following a months-long investigation into drug activity, including a fatal overdose, on Long Island.
James Stremel, age 51, of Hicksville, and 39-year-old Jeffrey Huffman, of Levittown, were both arrested on Friday, April 29, according to the Nassau County Police Department
Police said an investigation into drug activity and a fatal overdose on Saturday, March 26, led detectives to an apartment in Levittown on Friday, where investigators saw Stremel and Huffman engage in what appeared to be a drug transaction.

A Long Island man who allegedly held a box cutter to the throat of a pharmacy employee and demanded drugs has been arrested by police.
The incident took place around 4:40 p.m., Tuesday, June 22 at the Keezac Pharmacy on Bedford Avenue in Bellmore.
According to Nassau County Police Robbery Squad detectives, a man, identified, as Patrick Devine, age 33, of Bellmore, entered Keezac Pharmacy, displayed a box cutter, and placed it to the neck of a female employee, and demanded prescription pain medication.

Man, Woman From Nassau County Apprehended After Stealing SUV From Long Island Chick-fil-A
Two Long Island residents were arrested for allegedly stealing an SUV at a restaurant last month after an employee left his keys on a table.
An employee at Chic-fil-A, located at 1991 Broadhollow Road, in East Farmingdale, left the keys to a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse on a table in the dining area on Friday, May 28 at approximately 6:55 p.m., said the Suffolk County Police.
Another employee asked a customer, Jeffrey Dowling, if they were his keys. Dowling said they were and proceeded to steal the vehicle with his accomplice, Stacy Basso, police said.

Long Island Man Nabbed After Pulling Gun, Demanding Money From Two People, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly pulling out a pellet gun and demanding money from two people during an argument.
The incident took place around 10:345 p.m., Monday, June 7, in Roslyn, when Daniel Conwell, age 40, was involved in a verbal argument with a 50-year-old man and a 79-yer-old woman, while at a residence on Pine Drive North.
The argument escalated and Conwell, a resident of Roslyn, pulled out what appeared to be a black handgun and pointed it at the victims, demanding money, said the Nassau County Police.

Suspect Nabbed In Long Island Gas Station Robbery
Police nabbed one of two men wanted in an alleged armed robbery of a Long Island gas station last year.
Rafael Estrada, 31, of Westbury, was arrested in connection with the robbery which took place on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at the Mobil Gas Station in Garden City, said Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, an unknown man, later identified as Estrada, entered the gas station and approached the male employee, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash, police said.

Long Island Man Found High In Vehicle With Hypodermic Needle In Lap, Police Say
A Suffolk County man was arrested after allegedly being found lying in a vehicle with a hypodermic needle in his lap and for then resisting arrest.
Dion Hutchings, 25, of Syosset, was found around 840 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, on Sally Lane in Plainview, said the Suffolk County Police.
According to police, units responded to Sally Lane for reports of a suspicious person in a motor vehicle.
When officers arrived, they allegedly found Hutchings lying back in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with a hypodermic needle containing a brown substance in his lap, police said.
