Long Island Man Killed After BMW Crashes Into Trees, Police Say
A Long Island man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island.
It happened around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, July 3 in Commack.
Frank Panzarella, age 41, of Commack, was driving a 2021 BMW westbound on Vanderbilt Parkway when he failed to navigate a turn in the road, near Shinbone Lane, at approximately, Suffolk County Police said.
The vehicle then went off the road and struck trees, according to police.
Panzarella was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

A Long Island man who tried to travel to Syria to wage a "violent jihad," has pleaded guilty to a terrorism count.
Suffolk County resident Elvis Redzepagic, age 30, of Commack, pleaded guilty on Friday, April 23, to attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and ISIS and the al-Nusrah Front, said Mark J. Lesko, acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

A 55-year-old Long Island was apprehended by the FBI at a hotel where he allegedly intended to have a sexual encounter with a 10-year-old boy, according to authorities.
Kevin Will, of Islip, was arrested at the Melville hotel on Thursday, April 8, by members of the FBI "Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Unit," according to federal prosecutors.

A man is facing a host of charges after police say he abducted his girlfriend's 2-year-old son on Long Island.
Sherman Roberts Jr. took Dio Palermo, his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, from the child’s Commack residence, located at 450 Moreland Road, at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, Suffolk County Police said.
