Hofstra Names Former Star Speedy Claxton As New Head Men's Basketball Coach
A familiar face has been tapped to run the Hofstra University men’s basketball program. Speedy Claxton, who starred at Hofstra in the late 1990s, has been named as the Pride's 13th head coach after serving eight years as an assistant under former head coach Joe Mihalich. New York continues its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and soon will be permitting fans back into the stands at large- and small-scale college sporting events. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Tuesday, March 30 that beginning on Friday, April 2, college sports can begin bringing fans back under strict COVID-19 guidelines set up by the state. UConn Expected To Rejoin Big East Conference
UConn’s men’s basketball program hasn’t been the same since it left the Big East Conference seven years ago. Now it appears the Huskies will leave the American Athletic Conference and be back in the Big East for all sports except football, according to multiple reports.
