Duo Accused Of Burglarizing All-Girls Jewish School On Long Island
Two men are accused of breaking into an all-girls, Orthodox Jewish school on Long Island.
The incident happened in Cedarhurst, at the Shulamith School for Girls on Cedarhurst Avenue, at around 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31
Nassau County Police said two men illegally entered the school and rummaged through several offices.
On Monday, Sept. 9, investigators announced that they arrested 24-year-old Kevin Jimenez-Ramos, who is homeless, and 24-year-old Kevin Diaz, of Far Rockaway, Queens.
Both men are charged with third-degree burglary.

'Irate' Passenger Exposes Himself To Girls, Man Aboard Long Island Bus, Police Say
A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly exposing himself to two minors on a Long Island bus.
The incident happened in Cedarhurst, on an MTA bus that was traveling near Rockaway Turnpike and Rugby Road, at around 9:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19.
Nassau County Police said a 30-year-old man and two girls, ages 17 and 7, were riding on the bus when another passenger “became irate,” pulled his pants down, and exposed himself to the victims.
The suspect, 61-year-old Dwight Poorman, of Far Rockaway, Queens, then threatened them with a stick, police said. Nobody was injured.

Authorities are asking for the community's help locating a group of people who attempted to rob a man on Long Island.
It happened on Monday, March 11 in Cedarhurst, according to Nassau County Police.
Just after 5 p.m., a 68-year-old man had just parked his car and was walking south on Bayview Avenue when he was approached by the trio.
They threatened the man, demanding that he hand them his car keys or else they would hurt him.

A 40-year-old man is facing charges in a string of robberies at Long Island businesses.
Juan Hidalgo, of Freeport, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, at his home, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Long Island Man Accused Of Threatening Police, Pretending To Be Abused Child, Authorities Say
A man accused of threatening several members of law enforcement and the Jewish community on Long Island pretended to be an abused 11-year-old as part of another relentless harassment campaign against police in Fort Lee, New Jersey, authorities said.
Bradley Goldberg, age 47, of Cedarhurst, used a voice modifier and untraceable “spoof” numbers as part of the assault, a police complaint charges.

Man Nabbed For Burglary Of Long Island Home, Police Say
A 39-year-old man was arrested for an alleged burglary on Long Island after police say he fought with officers.
Bryan McCants, of Far Rockaway, Queens, was arrested around 3:40 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, in Cedarhurst, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Fourth Precinct officers were investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence earlier in the night. While canvassing the area, officers spotted a man that fit the description from the burglary, riding a bicycle that was taken from the residence.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;

Update:
A Long Island woman who went missing has been found.
Sharon Bader, 73, had last been seen leaving her residence in Cedarhurst on Monday, June 15 just before 2 p.m., said Nassau County Police. Her disappearance was reported to the police at 7:50 p.m. Monday.
On Tuesday afternoon, June 16, police announced she has been located.
