ID Released For Woman Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash
The identity has been released of a woman killed in a hit-and-run crash at a Long Island intersection.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. Monday, May 23 in Hauppauge.
A motor vehicle, believed to be a sedan, was traveling eastbound on Motor Parkway when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Moreland Road, Suffolk County Police said.
The vehicle then left the roadway, and struck the woman standing on the sidewalk before fleeing the scene eastbound on Motor Parkway, according to police.

A Long Island man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle crash killed his girlfriend overnight.
It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 in Brookhaven.
Emmanuel Rivera, age 40, of Bellport, was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry westbound on Montauk Highway, near Old South Country Road, when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said.

Teen Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Long Island Intersection
A teenager was killed in a single-car crash near a Long Island intersection overnight.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 in Bay Shore.
A 17-year-old male was driving a 2018 Infinity Q50 eastbound on Pine Aire Drive near Taylor Avenue, when he lost control of the vehicle, Suffolk Couny Police said.
The Infinity crossed over the westbound lane of traffic, then left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and overturned, said police.

Long Island Woman Rescued By Good Samaritans After Car Crashes Into Tree, Bursts Into Flames
A woman who was trapped in her burning car after it crashed into a tree was rescued by good Samaritans on Long Island.
Becky Boeckmann, age 35, of Bohemia, was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 eastbound in Islandia on Express Drive South, near Enter Lane, when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree at approximately 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, Suffolk County Police said.
The vehicle then caught fire, according to police.
The three good Samaritans, including two off-duty members of the Central Islip Fire Department, were passing by and stopped to help Boeckmann, said police.
