Harvard Grad Student Becomes First Active Military Member Crowned Miss America
A graduate student at Harvard has made history as the first active duty member of the military to be crowned Miss America. Madison Marsh, who is working on her master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and currently a graduate intern with Harvard Medical School, was crowned on Sunday, Jan. 14. New Cell, Gene Therapy Hub On Long Island Could Prove A 'Turning Point' For Cancer Treatment
A new center on Long Island aiming to research cell and gene therapy is being established, authorities said – and its impact could be huge. On Thursday, Dec. 14, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced plans to establish the facility, dubbed the Cell and Gene Therapy Innovation Hub, in the village of Lake Success. An associate professor at Stony Brook University has been arrested for allegedly stealing state and federal funding meant for cancer research for his own use, federal authorities say.
