Joseph Andreano, of Merrick, died when his compact SUV crashed into a tree in Merrick, while heading southbound on Merrick Avenue, at around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. A man allegedly exposed himself to three teenage girls while they were on their way to school, police on Long Island said. Nassau County Police said that at 11:05 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, three 16-year-old girls were walking on Webster Avenue near the intersection of Pettit Avenue in Merrick on their way to Calhoun High School when they saw a man exposing himself. Karen Dudek Of Commack, Ex-Director Of Nursing At Long Island Hospital, Dies
A Commack resident whose career includes director of nursing at a Long Island hospital has died. Karen S. Dudek died Tuesday, Aug. 6, at her home in Commack, at age 63. After 36 years as a nurse and later as director of nursing at the Nassau County Medical Center, she retired and worked for several hospital associations in New York City as director of nursing. Dudek was predeceased by her parents, Regina B. Smith and Robert A. Smith, and her sister, Regina S. Muzyka.
