49-Year-Old Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car In Residential Long Island Neighborhood A man was hospitalized after being struck by a car while crossing a residential street on Long Island. The incident occurred at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, in Oyster Bay. According to Nassau County Police, the unidentified man, age 49, was walking south on Kellogg Street and was attempting to cross Burtis Avenue when he was struck by a black Subaru Outback driven by a 62-year-old woman. The woman, traveling east on Burtis Avenue at the time of the accident, stayed at the scene, police said.
