Suspect Nabbed After String Of Business, Home Burglaries In Nassau County
A suspect has been apprehended after a string of business and home burglaries on Long Island.
The incidents happened between Friday, Dec. 29, and Wednesday, Jan. 13 at five locations in Nassau County.
The suspect, Marc Gagliano, age 39, of North New Hyde Park, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 13, Nassau County Police said.
Detectives say Gagliano burglarized the following locations:
A residence located on New Hyde Park Road, North New Hyde Park,
Janie’s Variety Store, 2201 Hillside Avenue, Herricks,

Man Breaks Into Former Boss's Long Island Home, Beats Family Members: Police
A recently fired man was arrested on Long Island after he went to his former employer’s home on Christmas Day and assaulted two people, police said.
It happened on Monday, Dec. 25 in North New Hyde Park, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., 37-year-old Kar Toong arrived at a home on Robby Lane to confront his former employer about being fired, yelling and swearing.
The homeowner’s son and grandson, ages 48 and 7, opened up the front door to question Toong, a Brooklyn resident, about why he was yelling.

Trio Smuggles Merch From Marshalls, Kohl's On Long Island
Police arrested three people who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Long Island stores.
On Thursday, Dec. 7, the trio were caught in the parking lot of the Oceanside Marshalls, located at 3544 Long Beach Road.
The three Hempstead residents — Kevin Joyner, age 56; Lori Menendez, age 47; and Richard Dean, age 39 — were hiding $1,428 worth of goods they snuck out of the store, according to Nassau County Police.
After their arrests, police discovered that the group had also struck at a Kohl’s down the street, taking a total of $1019.91 worth of wares.

$10K Stolen From Local Long Island Restaurant: Police
Police are on the search for a man who they say broke into a Long Island restaurant, stole thousands of dollars in cash, and ran.
It happened on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Carle Place.
According to Nassau County Police, an unknown man broke into Plori Restaurant, located at 307 Old Country Road, by breaking down the back door at approximately 4:15 a.m.
Once the thief was inside, he stole nearly $10,000 in cash from multiple registers before fleeing on foot.
Police said the burglar ran west towards Lindbergh Boulevard.

$500K Burglaries: Man Indicted For Multiple Long Island Incidents, DA Says
A man is facing charges after officials claim he burglarized Long Island businesses, stealing more than $500,000 in both merchandise and in currency.
John Cipolla, age 50, was indicted for the 2022 Plainview incidents, the Nassau County District Attorney announced on Friday, Nov. 10.
Cipolla, a resident of Long Island City, first began his alleged monthslong conspiracy on July 31, 2022.
