A 14-year-old Long Island boy was hit and killed while crossing a busy roadway. The crash took place in Suffolk County around 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 2 on Route 347 at Wireless Road in Setauket. Suffolk County Police detectives said David Zerella, age 36, of Port Jefferson, was driving a 2015 Dodge Charger westbound on Route 347 at Wireless Road when his car struck a bicyclist who was crossing Route 347 against the light. A 33-year-old man was charged after police said he left the scene of a crash that seriously injured a bicyclist on Long Island. A 30-year-old Islip man was struck by a car in East Islip at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, the Suffolk County Police Department said. A bicyclist was critically injured in a crash with a car on Long Island. It happened just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29 in Atlantic Beach. According to detectives, officers responded for a serious vehicular accident that occurred on the Atlantic Beach Bridge. A 27-year-old man was driving a 2000 Chevrolet northbound and struck a 46-year-old male bicyclist, who was also traveling north on the Atlantic Beach Bridge, Nassau County Police said. Police ID SUV In Long Island Hit-Run Crash That Seriously Injured Bicyclist
Police investigators on Long Island have identified the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist with serious injuries. Blue Point resident Frannie Columbini, 76, was riding his bicycle on Blue Point Avenue in Blue Point at around noon on Monday, April 6, when he was struck by a black SUV making a left-hand turn onto Middle Road.
