Six Charged With DWI During Police Checkpoint At Busy Long Island Intersection Six people were charged with driving while intoxicated during an overnight sobriety checkpoint at a busy Long Island intersection. The checkpoint was conducted by Suffolk County Police on Route 112 at Hallock Avenue in Port Jefferson Station between around 11 p.m. Saturday, July 3, and 2:15 a.m. Sunday, July 4. The checkpoint was part of an ongoing holiday weekend enforcement initiative targeting alcohol and drug-impaired driving. A total of 435 vehicles went through the checkpoint. 12-Year-Old Girl Drowns In Backyard Pool Of Long Island Home A 12-year-old Long Island girl drowned in the pool of her home overnight. Addison Delossantos, a resident of the home on Associaton Road in Bellport, was found unresponsive in the backyard pool around 7:20 p.m., Monday, June 14, said the Suffolk County Police. Delossantos was transported by South Country Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is continuing.

ID Released For 27-Year-Old Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash Police have identified a man killed during a hit and run crash on the Sunrise Highway on Long Island. Joseph Logue, 27, of Bellport was hit and killed east of Hospital Road, in East Patchogue, at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, said the Suffolk County Police.
