Closures, New Traffic Patterns Announced For This Long Island Parkway Transportation officials have declared a new set of closures — plus a new traffic pattern — for this parkway on Long Island. From Monday, Sept. 25 to Friday, Sept. 29, both directions of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead will be closed from the Loop Parkway (Exit M10) and the Bay Parkway.  According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the closures will be weather permitting and last from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day. Closure Scheduled On Meadowbrook State Parkway On Long Island Officials have announced a new planned closure on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. Drivers traveling during the closure are encouraged to use the Wantagh State Parkway in Hempstead as an alternative route. Closures On Stretch Of Meadowbrook State Parkway Scheduled State officials announced upcoming lane reductions and closures on a stretch of the Meadowbrook State Parkway. The parkway will be closed in both directions between the Loop Parkway (Exit M10) and Bay Parkway in Hempstead beginning the night of Monday, Sept. 19, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
