Aquebogue Man Charged, Weapons Recovered After Investigation Into Threats To Jewish Community
A Long Island man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into threats to the Jewish community in New York City.
Christopher Brown, age 21, of Aquebogue, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 19, and charged with making a terroristic threat, aggravated harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon, the New York City Police Department reported.
Police also reported the arrest of 22-year-old Matthew Mahrer, of New York City, who was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

A Long Island man has admitted to targeting Hispanic men, bringing them to remote locations, and then violently attacking them.
Christopher Cella, of Selden, pleaded guilty to multiple hate crimes in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Aug. 18, including strangulation and assault.

Man Accused Of Making Graffiti, Including Swastika, In Port Jefferson Station
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly making graffiti that included such images as a swastika and other hate messages.
Carol Vario, age 51, undomiciled, was arrested by Suffolk County Police on Wednesday, March 9, for the incident which took place on Friday, March 4 in Port Jefferson Station.
The graffiti was found on a building located at 518 Route 112, police said.
Similar graffiti on a kiosk near the Greenway Trail was also found on Saturday, March 5, police said.

Long Island Teen Accused Of Targeting, Attacking Hispanic Men
A 19-year-old man was charged with hate crimes after police said he targeted Hispanic men, brought them to remote locations on Long Island, and attacked them.
Christopher Cella, of Selden, was arrested without incident at about 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
SCPD said at about 8:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, Cella drove to the area of La Placita, located at 711 Horseblock Road in Farmingville, and picked up a 52-year-old Holbrook man.

A Long Island teen has been charged with aggravated harassment for allegedly spray-painting a large swastika on a stop sign.
Ivan Martinez, age 19, of Islip, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 10, for the incident that took place on Sunday, Jan. 31, in Centre Island, according to the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, the Town of Oyster Bay Constables discovered what appeared to be a large swastika spray-painted on a stop sign. The Bay Constables responded to the Centre Island Police Department and reported the blue marking.

An allegedly bitter former employee at Belmont Park on Long Island has been accused of stealing a horse and causing its death, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas announced.
Elmont resident Ramzan Antooa, a backstretch employee at Belmont Park, allegedly knowingly released a racehorse onto blacktop, where it fell, suffering a fatal injury, Singas said.

Man Makes Terroristic Threat After Attempting To Set Vehicle On Fire, Nassau County PD Says
A 37-year-old man was arrested after allegedly making terroristic threats and attempting to set a vehicle on fire at a Long Island home.
William Witcher, of Far Rockaway, Queens, was charged at an area hospital after Nassau County Police responded to a home on Bayview Avenue in Inwood around 3:15 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, on the report of a disturbance, police said.
