Recall Of 11.7M Pounds Of Meat, Poultry: List Released Of LI Schools That Received Products
A preliminary list has been released of schools that received items that were part of a nationwide recall of millions of pounds of meat and poultry products over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria.
The initial recall involving the manufacturer, Bruce Pac, was for 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) products sold at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Trader Joe's, 7-Eleven, Aldi, and other stores. It was announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Duo Nabbed For String Of Suffolk County ATM Burglaries
Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.

Northern Westchester County resident William Ciringione, of of Yorktown Heights, won big when he claimed his scratch-off prize, lottery officials announced on Thursday, Dec. 21.
The massive $5 million prize, which he won on the Cash X100 scratch-off game, was sold at the 7-Eleven, located at 1949 Commerce St. in Yorktown Heights.
Ciringione took his prize as a lump sum, totaling $3,255,000 after the required withholdings.

55-Year-Old Steals $11K Of Cigarettes From Long Island Stores, Police Say
A man who was not feeling the holiday spirit was taken into custody after police said he swiped tens of thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes from Long Island 7-Eleven stores.
The alleged thief, 55-year-old Andre Christmas of Uniondale, was arrested at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10 in Hempstead for an alleged string of robberies.
According to Nassau County Police, Christmas stole cigarettes from 7-Eleven stores in Franklin Square, North Bellmore, Hempstead, and Valley Stream on seven different occasions from Sunday, Nov. 19, until Saturday, Dec. 9.
