It happened at around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 9 in Copiague. A 61-year-old man was walking westbound across Great Neck Road, approximately 75 feet north of Oak Street, when he was struck by a southbound 2020 Toyota Corolla, Suffolk County Police said.  The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Nassau County Police were called just before 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, with reports of a serious crash in Bethpage, at Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue. 61-Year-Old Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Tree In Bethpage An investigation is underway after a 61-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened on the southbound Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Bethpage on Thursday, July 28, the Nassau County Police Department said. A 2020 Subaru left the roadway and hit a tree between exits 9 and 10 at about 4:50 a.m., NCPD reported. Police said the driver was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police Medic. NCPD did not release the man's identity. There were no other occupants in the Subaru, police said.
