Here's How Many Volunteers Are Working This Week's PGA Championship At Bethpage Thousands of men and women of all size, shapes and ages are busy this week working long hours as the championship rounds start at the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. In total, approximately 3,600 volunteers will work various jobs at the course, while the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson hit the links and vie for the second major of the season. Huge PGA Championship Merchandise Tent Opening Early In Bethpage Long Island is ready to welcome the world’s best golfers when it hosts the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black next week. Though the action won’t kick off until Monday, May 13, a 60,000-square-foot PGA Shops merchandising tent will be set up on the course, open to the public beginning on Friday, May 10, featuring anything a golf fan could hope for. The venue will be located near the Main Spectator Entrance, along the walkway.
