Friends, family, and fans of a popular D-1 college basketball player whose family’s New York home and belongings were destroyed by a fast-moving fire.
On Saturday, Feb. 26, a fire tore through the Queens home Zakai Zeigler, a prominent guard playing in the SEC for the Tennessee Volunteers who grew up on Long Island, in Wyandanch in Suffolk County.
In the fire, Zeigler’s mother, who is raising her special-needs 4-year-old nephew, lost all of her belongings, including accessibility equipment for the child, including wheelchairs and splints.

A man and woman from New York are facing felony charges after authorities said they both presented fake COVID-19 vaccination cards to attend a Buffalo Bills game.
Michael Naab, age 34, and 37-year-old Amber Naab, both of West Seneca, were arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and each charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a Class D felony, the Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced.
The couple is accused of presenting fake cards to attend the game on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Highmark Stadium.

Kyrie Irving is now unofficially the least of the Brooklyn Nets’ COVID-19 concerns.
