Suspect On Loose After Overnight Robbery At Long Island Gas Station

A suspect is on the loose after an overnight robbery at a gas station on Long Island.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 at the BP station located at 969 Atlantic Ave. in Baldwin, Nassau County Police said.

After entering the station, the suspect reached over the counter and opened the register, grabbing currency before the attendant pushed his hands away, according to police. The suspect then ran out of the store and fled westbound towards Atlantic Avenue.

He is described as being a white man, approximately 40 years old who is 5-foot-7, 150 pounds with black curly hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, black jeans and blue surgical gloves, police said.
