Long Island Man Used Chair, Cell Phone To Record Woman Showering, Say Police

A 31-year-old Long Island man is facing multiple charges after police say he used a chair and cell phone to record a woman showering.

According to Nassau County Police detectives, Paul Cotugno, of Valley Stream, entered the rear yard of the 25-year-old woman's residence on Mineola Avenue in Valley Stream on Saturday, Jan. 4 at about 10:12 p.m.

Cotugno then used the chair to look into the bathroom window to record the woman showering with his cell phone., police said.

When the woman screamed, Cotugno fled on foot, police said. He was apprehended a short time later and placed under arrest without incident.

Cotugno has been charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance and two counts of third-degree criminal trespass. He will be arraigned on Sunday, Jan. 5 at First District Court in Hempstead.
