Long Island Man Riding Skateboard Struck By SUV In Hit-Run Crash

A pedestrian riding a skateboard in Roslyn was hospitalized after being struck by a driver who proceeded to speed away, police said.

The Nassau County Police Department received a report shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 involving a 30-year-old pedestrian that was riding his skateboard in front of a Main Street apartment complex when he was struck by a white Suburban.

Police said that the driver proceeded to leave the scene, and the skateboarder was transported to a local hospital. The victim, whose name has not been released, is in stable condition and suffering from several trauma injuries.
