Police investigators in Suffolk County are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Lindenhurst last month and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to police, a man entered Apple Bank on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24, approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied and gave the man cash from the drawer before he fled on foot southbound on North Indiana Avenue.
In surveillance photos released by police, the bearded man can be seen sporting a dark sweatshirt, jeans, a backward hat, and sunglasses.
A $5,000 reward has been offered by the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to the arrest of the man. Anyone with information regarding the incident has been asked to contact investigators by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, or texting “SCPD” and the message to “CRIMES” (274637).
