The stabbing took place around 4 p.m., Monday, June 3, when three 16-year-old males were involved in an altercation on Berkshire Drive in Farmingville when one of the teens was stabbed, said the Suffolk County Police.
The victim, a Ronkonkoma resident, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries, police said.
Sixth Squad detectives arrested one of 16-year-old teens, whose name is not being released due to his age, and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Youth Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, June 4.
The investigation is continuing.
