Deywin Gonzalez Sovalbarro was arrested around 1:24 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, after officers responded to a report of a crash in Woodmere, said the Nassau County Police.
When police arrived on the scene at the corner of Broadway and Neptune Avenue they discovered a blue 2016 Toyota had crashed into a building at 945 Broadway, police said.
Officers found Sovalbarro, of Woodmere, sitting on the curb, allegedly with glassy bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.
He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Two passengers, both 21-year-old males, were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Sovalbarro was charged DWI and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 15.
