Officials from Islip High School sent a letter to parents after a male student reported a pair of incidents involving an unknown man who allegedly followed him while he was walking home from school.
The incident was first reported to investigators with the Suffolk County Police Department on Tuesday, April 30.
According to the student, on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, the student left school and was walking on Main Street when he spotted a minivan driven by an older man leaving the McDonald’s parking lot. He reportedly opened the window and followed the boy home, at which point the man drove away.
Police said that the driver was described as a white male with a white beard driving in a late model blue minivan.
