The unidentified man was found around 7:30 a.m., Thursday, June 6, by the person who then called police reporting an unconscious man in the park, said the Suffolk County Police.
East Hampton Town Police responded, and found the man who had suffered head injuries and was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Officials from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner will determine the man’s cause of death, which detectives believe to be criminal in nature.
