An investigation is underway after a person was found shot and killed on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Suffolk County.
State Police received a report of the shooting on the reservation for members of the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton just after 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.
The victim was pronounced dead, with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.
