Carlos Alfaro, 22, of Roosevelt, will be arraigned Wednesday, Feb. 19, with two counts of second-degree murder, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Alfaro is responsible for the 2016 murder of Josue Amaya Leonor, 19, whose body was found in 2018 in a wooded area of the Roosevelt Preserve during an investigation by the Homicide Squad, along with Homeland Security investigators.
Two other MS-13 gang members have already been charged in connection with Leonor's murder including Josue Figueroa-Velazquez, 19, and Kevin Lopez-Morales, 21, police said.
Alfaro will also be charged with the murder of Carlos Ulises Ventura-Zelaya, 24, who was killed in 2016.
In that case, detectives responding to a call for shots fired in Roosevelt found Ventura-Zelaya who'd been shot and killed.
Police have not released any gang affiliation information regarding Ventura-Zelaya.
