The incident took place in Southampton on Friday, June 10.

Police were called to a home in Southampton by workers who thought they were being shot at by a person with a real gun, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police.

According to Ralph, the boy purchased a BB gun on Amazon and began shooting the bushes outside of his home.

He saw two workers across the street from his residence and shot at them multiple times to see their reaction, Ralph said.

The workers, thinking they were being shot at by an actual weapon ran for cover until they realized it was a BB gun and called the police., she added.

Officers responded and made sure that the workers were not injured and found no damage to property.

The juvenile was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and menacing, Ralph said.

He was not identified due to his age.

He was released to his parents on an appearance ticket for Family Court.
