During his time writing for newspapers, magazines, and online publications, he’s covered everything from murderers to mommy bloggers, but his most interesting story is always the next one.

Feet Away From Death: Massive Tree Crushes Truck In Westport A Connecticut driver narrowly escaped death after a tree fell on his truck on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, authorities said.  The massive tree collapsed onto the truck just after 6:40 a.m. on Easton Road, Westport Police said.  The driver was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries, but images of the wreck show how things could have been much worse.   The tree collapsed the bed of the truck and smashed the sunroof, just a few feet from the cab. Police closed that portion of Easton Road for a few hours as crews cleared the tree and truck off the pavement.

Norwalk Teen Attacked Friend At His Home, Stole $3K: Police A 19-year-old Connecticut man is accused of robbing his friend of $3,000 while visiting the friend's home earlier this week, authorities said. Boston Leger, 19, of Norwalk, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree assault, police said. A friend of Leger's said the teen came to his home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and a fight broke out, Norwalk police said. The man said Leger stole $3,000 in cash and left. Detectives arrested Leger at his home without incident. He was being held on a $30,000 bond, authorities said. Leger is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 15.

Head-On I-495 Crash In Mansfield Sends 3 To Hospital A head-on, multi-car crash Thursday morning, Dec. 5, sent three people to the hospital and forced police to shut down several lanes on I-495, authorities said.  Massachusetts State Police said the crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. in Mansfield. A northbound vehicle veered into the southbound lane and collided with an oncoming car head-on. Man's Death Ruled Homicide, New Haven Police Asking For Information Police say a man found dead early Wednesday morning was killed, authorities announced.  Russell McKenzie, 57, was found dead in his Walnut Street apartment in New Haven around 1:15 a.m., police said.
