NJ Mom Killed By Falling Tree While Camping With Family In Furious Upstate NY Storm
A New Jersey woman was killed in upstate New York over the weekend when a tree fell on her camper during fierce thunderstorms that ripped through the region, authorities said. At about 10:50 a.m. the Delaware County 911 Center received multiple reports of trees down on campers at multiple locations with an individual trapped at the Russell Brook Campground in the Town of Colchester. Carol E. Luistro was inside of her camper when it was struck by a fallen tree, pinning her underneath it, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Colchester police said. A man who barricaded himself in his New York home after threatening to torture and kill his ex-girlfriend — as she filed a complaint against him in New Jersey — was captured with the help of drone technology, authorities announced. Two determined Glen Rock detectives identified, located and charged a Queens man with the vicious robbery of a 66-year-old Bergenfield man last spring in the parking lot of the warehouse where he works. A 29-year-old tattoo artist and musician was shot dead earlier this week in New York's Hudson Valley, authorities said. Sullivan County resident Michael A. Hankins, of Woodridge, was killed on Tuesday, Jan. 11 in Shawangunk in Ulster County, said the New York State Police. Walter D.
