The New York owner of a popular cannabis company known for its fleet of purple buses and vans was taken into custody, as was a woman, on Wednesday, July 10, following a series of raids across New Jersey and New York, authorities said.

A 22-year-old Boston woman will face charges after she fatally struck 19-year-old University of Massachusetts Dartmouth student Frank Petillo Jr. earlier this year, authorities said.
Danasia Sampson, of Mattapan, MA, was charged last week with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said. Sampson is also a student at the university.

A New Jersey drummer found dead at a Berks County dump on Saturday, Nov. 12 had crawled into a dumpster the night before, according to officials and those who knew him.
Kellen J. Bischoff, 19, of Manahawkin, NJ, was found dead at the Total Recycling Facility on Lincoln Road in Birdsboro just after 8:30 a.m., said District Attorney John T. Adams in a release Monday, Nov. 14.
Investigators were able to identify Bischoff by his "unique" tattoos, and eventually learned that he was visiting a family member in Kutztown, the DA said.

A Jersey Shore couple was jailed in connection with an overdose heroin/fentanyl death of a 16-year-old boy last month, authorities said.
David Belk, 45, and Stephanie O’Neill, 44, both of Little Egg Harbor, have been charged with strict liability, endangering the welfare of a child, and drug related charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Captain James Hawkins said.
Belk and O’Neill supplied heroin and fentanyl to the 16-year-old boy, who was found unresponsive on the floor of an East Susquehanna Driver on July 3, authorities said.

A Jersey Shore pain management doctor accused of running a $24.6 million fraud scheme billed insurance plans for more than 24 hours worth of services in a single day no fewer than 900 times, federal authorities said Monday.

Staring Monday, Nov. 2., the following Motor Vehicle Commissions centers will be by appointment only:
Cherry Hill, Hazlet, Jersey City, Lakewood, Manahawkin, Medford, Somerville, Springfield, Turnersville and Wallington. No walk-in customers will be accepted at those locations.

A Costco customer is accused of making "terroristic threats" after losing his temper on a Jersey Shore cashier, authorities said.
In a heated exchange posted on TikTok, the 48-year-old Barnegat man bad-mouths a cashier, calling her "an old, ugly hag," Stafford Township police said.
At one point, the customer threatens to smack the cashier's husband and beat up her manager, according to this TikTok video.
