Police: Peeping-Tom Contractor Hid Video Camera In Paramus, Wayne Family Bathrooms
A contractor hid a micro camera that recorded video in bathrooms at homes in Paramus and Wayne, authorities said. The Paramus victim went to local police after finding the camera, with a micro-SD memory card, hidden in a bathroom wall, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said Wednesday. Detectives learned that the homeowner had hired Romeo Sanchez, 47, of West New York to replace a window, Ehrenberg said. A peeping Tom installed mirrors so he could spy on girls in the bathroom stalls at a South Jersey middle school, authorities charged. Staffers caught contractor Gregory Mahley, 51, of West Deptford peeking through an air conditioning vent at the Glen Landing Middle School, police in Gloucester Township said. A man accused of taking an upskirt photo of a customer in a Big Lots store on Route 46 tried to fool police by changing his shirt, authorities said. A Palisades Park plumber secretly recorded video of a Tenafly customer by hiding his cellphone in her bathroom, said authorities who wonder whether there may be other victims. A peeping Tom caught looking into the windows of a South Hackensack motel room while a couple was having sex clipped one of the victims with his car as he fled, authorities said. Eduardo Moreno was "peering into motel room windows where the curtains were not shut all the way and watching the occupants" at the Congress Inn on Route 46 around 2:45 a.m. Feb. 22, Deputy Police Chief Robert Kaiser said. Hanover PD: Bronx Man Caught Photographing Customer On Wegmans Toilet
A 35-year-old New York man was caught taking photographs of another man using the toilet in Wegmans in Hanover, said authorities who charged him. The victim told police he was using a stall in the restroom when he looked up and noticed a phone pointing down at him on Feb. 26, Hanover police said in a news release. Allan Jones, 35, of the Bronx, matched the description given to police by the victim and was arrested and charged with invasion of privacy. He was released pending a court appearance.

Handyman Busted After Ridgewood Woman Finds Hidden Camera In Her Bedroom
A handyman working on a Ridgewood woman’s home installed a secret camera in her bedroom so he could spy on her, authorities said. Jose Lema, of West Orange, who turned 44 on Tuesday, was arrested Thursday and charged with burglary and attempted invasion of privacy, village Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. The victim went to police last month after finding the “surreptitiously placed” small digital camera, which had a clear view of her bed, after Lema did work in her home, the chief said. Lema was released pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

A man suspected of taking an upskirt photo at a store on Rt. 22 in Union last month has been arrested, police said. Authorities say Stephen Grogan of Branchville knelt behind a shopper July 12 and was using his cell phone to take images of her, police said. Grogan left the store when the woman confronted her but she followed him and obtained his license plate number, Union police said. Rockaway Man Snuck Photos Of Woman Under Bathroom Stall At Giralda Farms, Police Say
A 24-year-old Rockaway man was arrested for taking photos of a woman under a bathroom stall at Giralda Farms, authorities said. Joan S. Acosta Gacha snuck the photos while the woman was using the restroom at Giralda Farms, the estate of Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge, Madison Police Chief Darren P. Dachisen said. Police did not specify where on the property the incident occurred. Acosta-Gacha was charged with invasion of privacy and released pending an appearance in Morris County Superior Court. He was also served a trespass warning barring him from Giralda Farms.

Owner Of Nutley Tanning Salon Secretly Filmed Clients, Prosecutor Says
The owner of a Nutley tanning salon was arrested on drug possession and other charges, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday. Martino Poli, 38, of Stanhope, owns the Sun of a Beach salon on Franklin Avenue and was being held at the Essex County jail. Police began to investigate the business after a female customer reported seeing a camera lens in the tanning bed she was using. The camera appeared to be recording her, the woman said.
