Ridgewood Firefighters Sue Siren Manufacturer Over Hearing Loss RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Thirty-four firefighters from around New Jersey, including Ridgewood, are suing the makers of a fire truck siren, claiming the decibel used causes hearing loss, reported NJ.com. More than 34 firefighters in Elizabeth, Linden, Bayonne, Union, Ridgewood, Kearny, Cranford, and West New York filed the lawsuit in federal court on Friday. Each firefighter is seeking $150,000 in damages, said NJ.com. The same siren manufacture is involved in another lawsuit with 200 firefighters in Buffalo, said NJ.com. High School Football, Wrestling Divided Into Public, Non-Public Sectors Wrestling and football teams will now separate into public and non-public districts and regions, after a vote by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, reported NorthJersey.com. The football proposal, which passed 215-128, will now place all non-public schools into their own conference. The wrestling proposal passed, 216-121 and will now send all non-public wrestlers into their own four districts and one region, meeting with the public schools before qualifiers, said NorthJersey.com. Sacred Heart Greenwich Places First In Regional Robotics Competition GREENWICH, Conn. -- Sacred Heart’s Middle School sent two teams to the FIRST LEGO League’s qualifying event for the state championship, which was held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Greenwich Academy. The fifth-grade team, Titanium Tigers, won the entire competition and was awarded the Championship Award.
