: Fleeing Driver Makes K-Turn On Route 17, Goes Wrong Way In Mid-Morning Traffic
An unlicensed driver trying to shake pursuing police made a K-turn in mid-morning traffic on Route 17, drove the wrong way down the shoulder, then tried to ditch the unregistered, uninsured vehicle on a side street, authorities said. Kareem Vaughn Hewitt, 33, of Brooklyn got off of and onto Route 17 three separate times before he was caught on foot, Saddle River Police Chief Jason Cosgriff said. UPDATE: Police were reviewing area surveillance video and witness statements to determine why a tractor-trailer tipped and spilled a load of drywall onto Route 17, sending two people to the hospital before dawn Monday. Route 17 between Allendale and Upper Saddle River remained first fully and then partially closed until 8:30 a.m., roughly 4½ hours after the crash. Driver OK In Route 17 Ramsey Rollover
A New York State driver escaped with minor injuries Tuesday in a Route 17 rollover in Ramsey, responders said. The Jeep Renegade landed on it side on the northbound side of the highway in front of Bottle King around 12:30 p.m. Extrication wasn't necessary, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Police, firefighters, EMS and Ramsey Rescue responded. Upper Saddle River police assisted with traffic. The vehicle was towed. Another minor accident was reported nearby around the same time.

Prosecutor: USR Police Officer Busted For Waving Weapon, Compromising Internal Probe, More
An Upper Saddle River police officer was arrested Monday by Bergen County prosecutor's detectives who accused him of waving his weapon at someone in his car, compromising an internal affairs investigation and cyber harassment, among other offenses. Kyle Zyskowski, 34, of Ramsey "hindered a potential internal affairs investigation by encouraging a witness to destroy evidence," Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
