All Lanes Of Route 17 Closed By Overturned Construction Equipment In East Rutherford
Traffic was halted along Route 17 Tuesday morning, Oct. 29 due to debris that fell off a tractor trailer in East Rutherford. As of 10 a.m., all southbound lanes, south of East Union Avenue, were closed. Traffic cameras show cars backed up in the southbound lanes and what appeared to be overturned construction equipment. A 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Route 17 in Bergen County on Tuesday, Sept. 10, police said. For residents in the Pascack Valley region, the noise from private planes flying into Teterboro Airport has become a quality of life issue.
