Victim Rescued, Hospitalized After Jet Ski Goes Up In Flames, Explodes On Lake Hopatcong A jet skier was rescued and hospitalized after the vessel went up in flames and exploded on Lake Hopatcong Sunday night, authorities said. Hopatcong Police responded to the Byram Cove area of the lake and worked alongside the NJSP Marine Unit to rescue the victim around 7:20 p.m., Lt. Michael O’Shea told Daily Voice. Officers were told by witnesses at the scene that the victim’s jet ski had exploded, O’Shea said. The victim was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Skeletal Remains Found On Elizabeth Waterfront Firefighters found what appeared to be skeletal remains while conducting training on an Elizabeth waterfront. The bones were found in the water near Elizabeth Avenue and Front Street Thursday, fire officials said. It wasn't immediately known if the remains were human or animal, firefighters said. Update: Body Of Capsized Boat Operator Recovered, ID'd As Morris County Man The body of a 68-year-old Morris county man was recovered from Crescent Cove in Hopatcong, hours after the boat he was operating capsized Wednesday, authorities said. Divers from the New Jersey State Police Dive Team recovered Curtis Mulch's body from the water sometime after 3 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez said. Mulch, of the Landing section of Roxbury, was pronounced dead just before 3:30 p.m., Goez said.
