2 Dead, Driver Seriously Injured In Route 1 Linden Crash
Two people were killed in a crash overnight on Route 1 in Linden, authorities said. A 2013 Infiniti Sedan was heading north when it struck a tractor-trailer turning left onto S. Stiles Street from the southbound lanes around 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, police said. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a second passenger were both taken to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries, where the second passenger died. A six-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in Linden on Friday, May 24, authorities said. The girl was struck while crossing W. St. George Avenue, Linden police said in a release. She was transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported, police said. W. St. George Avenue was closed westbound at N. Stiles Street for two hours following the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.

Wood Ave and located the victim, who suffered a single gunshot wound, Captain Christopher Guenther said. The victim was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital, Guenther said. Two children and two adults were killed in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide Sunday, Feb. 19 in Linden. A large police presence was called to Chatham Place around 9:30 a.m., where the one child and two adults were pronounced dead, Linden police said.
