Downhill Tow Truck Slams Into North Bergen Home A tow truck towing a USPS truck slammed into the porch of a North Bergen home on Friday, Dec. 29. The truck was going downhill on 73rd at Grand Avenue when the back wheels came off the ground, sending the truck flying down to Liberty Avenue, where the driver crashed into the porch of the home, Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Had the truck not crashed into the home it would've gone right into Route 1&9, which was experiencing bumper-to-bumper traffic, the captain said.

Video Captures Pedestrian Struck By Jeep In Hudson County A 33-year-old woman was injured after she was struck by a Jeep Cherokee in North Bergen on the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 25, police said. The Jeep driver, a 39-year-old woman, was turning left onto 83rd Street when she struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk around 4:50 p.m., North Bergen Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Man Suffers Head Trauma After Being Struck By Rolling Car He Was Riding In: North Bergen PD A man in his early 70s suffered head trauma after being struck by a rolling vehicle that he had been riding in Wednesday evening, July 12 in North Bergen, police said. The Cliffside Park resident got out of the vehicle and walked around the back of the car at 1600 71st Street, around 7:05 p.m., North Bergen Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said.  The vehicle rolled back knocking the man to the ground, causing him to hit his head, Raposo said. The man is believed to have suffered a concussion, the captain said.
