UPDATE: A woman whose body was found Saturday morning along the Hudson River in Edgewater apparently wasn't the victim of foul play, said authorities who were trying to positively identify her. A 911 caller led officers to the body on the Hudson River Walkway shoreline behind the Comfort Inn around 8 a.m., Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said. Authorities captured four Philadelphia men who they said beat and tased two victims during a gunpoint robbery in Edgewater late last year. The victims were attacked when they arrived at the Riello Apartments on Gorge Road before dawn on Dec. 8, 2019 by a quartet who held them at gunpoint while beating them, tasing them with a cattle prod and robbing them, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Friday. Three men have been arrested in the Tuesday evening shooting of a 12-year-old girl in Jersey City, authorities said. The guns recovered in the arrest of Jashaun Tate, Damari Blackwell and Marc Taylor were identified as a semi-automatic, Intractec MOD AB-10 9mm pistol and a Glock 21 .45 caliber handgun, police said. Hundreds of dead fish recently found floating in the Hudson River are no cause for concern, environmentalists say. Their deaths, in fact, are the result of a "naturally occurring phenomenon," according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). An ex-con caught testing vehicle door handles in Edgewater told police that he did it to help the owners, authorities said.
