Bridgeton Driver, 23, Charged In Crash That Killed Navy Vet
A 23-year-old man has been charged in a crash that killed a U.S. Navy veteran last month in Salem County, authorities said. Christopher Poore, of Bridgeton, was heading east on Route 40 when he struck Allen Miller Jr., 45, near milepost 20.5 in Pittsgrove around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, New Jersey State Police said. Poore then fled the scene. Miller, who police said was from Vineland, was killed as a result of the crash. Two whales were found dead along the Jersey Shore about 24 hours apart, officials said. A dead minke whale was found off the coast of Sandy Hook in the Raritan and Lower bays on Thursday, Oct. 3, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) said in a news release.
